Financial and Economic Review

The Financial and Economic Review, edited and published by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, has become one of the most widely read academic journals in the field of economics and finance in Hungary, with an expanding international readership. The journal is published quarterly in Hungarian and English, and an annual Chinese-language edition presents a selection of studies to reach an even wider audience.

As a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal, it is committed to maintaining high academic standards and providing open access to research that contributes to the better understanding of economic policy, financial stability, and social development.

The Financial and Economic Review aims to foster academic and professional discussion on topics related to economics, finance, and the social sciences. The journal welcomes original research papers, theoretical studies, policy analyses, essays, feature articles, book reviews and conference reports that enhance better understanding of macroeconomic and financial processes, monetary policy, and economic development. Special attention is given to research addressing the challenges and opportunities of Central and Eastern Europe in a global context. Submissions that link theory with practice and provide valuable insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and academics are especially encouraged. Read more about our Aims and Scope.
