本文比较了1920年代前期和1990年代前期匈牙利的货币政策和通货膨胀。在这两个时期,经济和金融失衡都给中央银行施加了提供通胀融资的压力。最终,为了应对由此产生的通货膨胀,中央银行的独立性得到了显著加强。但是,虽然中央银行的独立性有所帮助,但在这两种情况下都不足以防止随后的不稳定。中央银行不可避免地感受到压力,需要解决来自银行业、国际收支、政府预算和经济疲软部门的问题。本文最后总结了可能影响匈牙利中央银行独立性的现行立法的影响。
