Absztrakt:

Az elmúlt hónapokban a világ számos nagy jegybankja jelentette be, hogy inflációs célkövető rendszereiket alapos felülvizsgálatnak vetik alá. A lépés rendkívül időszerű. A hivatalos statisztikák szerint a fogyasztói infláció a fejlett világban a jegybankok rendkívüli erőfeszítései ellenére közel egy évtizede makacsul a jegybanki célértékek alatt alakul. A célok tartós elvetése a központi bankok számára hitelességi problémákat okoz, ami idővel a döntések társadalmi elfogadottságát is kikezdheti. A kihívások mellett a technológiai fejlődés új megoldásokat is kínál. A big data-technológiák széleskörű elterjedése a gazdaságstatisztikák fejlesztésében is komoly lehetőséget teremt, mely előnyöket kihasználva a közgazdasági elméletek is újból, az elmúlt évtizedben tapasztaltnál erősebb támaszokat nyújthatnak a gazdaságpolitikai döntéshozók számára.
